FoamFloats.com submission for the 3D Kits Manta Trainer

Submitted by: Will Shepherd

Specs:
Motor/Battery: Speed 480 w/ 2.3mm shaft, 10 cell 1100mah
AUW: 27oz
Floats: 22"

Mounting:
The front edge of the main gear hardpoint should be placed about 9" from the float tip, and the rear hardpoint should be placed about 18" from the float tip. Take 9" of music wire and bend a set of rear struts that will slip into the rear hardpoints, then ruberband to the main booms behind the trailing edge of the wing. Adjust as necessary to get the float step just behind the Mantas CG. To ensure your electronics do not get wet on a sloppy or rough water landing, you can take some of your float bed and cut a small 4" long tail wheel float to place on the tail wheel wire. This should keep the tail and its associated electronics high and dry. The float can be mounted by attaching a new music wire bit into the rudder with a long "axel" that can stick through the tail wheel float.

Flying:
The Manta trainer is an awesome float plane. Lots of power provides solid climb out and short takeoffs. More later!
